Sangeeta Gomes leads technology and AI at Axium Global — a biomedical engineer who now builds the software behind how buildings get designed and delivered.
Sangeeta Gomes is Head of Technology & Digital Innovation at Axium Global, where she leads AI and software for architecture, engineering and construction clients in the US, UK, Australia and Israel. A biomedical engineer by training, she has spent 16 years building technology in fields where getting it wrong is not an option.
Sangeeta Gomes builds technology for industries where precision isn't optional. As Head of Technology & Digital Innovation at Axium Global, she grew a four-person team into a 25-strong technology organisation, turned an internal tooling function into a client-facing software business serving enterprise clients in Australia and the USA, and leads six AI initiatives across the firm.
She began in healthcare technology — building arrhythmia detection and real-time ECG systems — before moving through mobility and pharma into architecture, engineering and construction. She holds a Doctorate in Management Studies (E-Business Systems), an MBA and a degree in Biomedical Engineering, and is an ISO 27001 Lead Implementer. She is based in Mumbai.
Sangeeta Gomes started her career reading heartbeats. Her first published research improved mobile pulse oximeters using wavelet analysis; her first major system sent ECGs across the world in under four seconds, including a project with DRDO for the Indian Navy. The arrhythmia detection programme she led improved accuracy by 90% and cut response times from minutes to seconds.
Since then she has built technology wherever the stakes are real. At a mobility start-up, her in-cab software ended driver fraud and saved ₹6 million a month. For pharmaceutical clients, she led teams building products for field representatives. For a healthcare company in Israel, she engineered systems that generate 500-page ECG reports in seconds.
Today, as Head of Technology & Digital Innovation at Axium Global, she leads technology for an architecture, engineering and construction services firm with clients across the US, UK, Australia and Israel. She grew the technology organisation from four people to around 25, with full P&L ownership and board-level reporting, turned an internal tooling team into a client-facing software business, and is moving six AI initiatives from experiment to everyday work.
Sangeeta holds a Doctorate in Management Studies (E-Business Systems), an MBA in Information Management and a B.E. in Biomedical Engineering, and has completed digital strategy programmes at IIM Ahmedabad. She is an ISO 27001 Lead Implementer and a Certified Scrum Master, and lives in Mumbai.
Our next speaker started her career reading heartbeats — building systems that detected arrhythmias in seconds and sent ECGs across the world in under four. Today she leads technology and AI at Axium Global, building the software behind how buildings get designed and delivered for clients on four continents. She's here to tell us what's actually working in AI — and what isn't. Please welcome Sangeeta Gomes.
Keynote
Six live AI initiatives, unvarnished — where they pay off, where they stall, and how to tell the difference before you spend.
Best for: Industry conferences, AEC firms, technology summits
Boardroom
The questions directors should be asking their technology leaders — and the answers that should worry them.
Best for: Boards, investors, leadership offsites
Leadership
How a biomedical engineer built and kept a team through three industries — and what that teaches about people-first change.
Best for: Leadership forums, women-in-leadership events
